Search Slack, read channels and threads, post messages, edit canvases.
Once Slack is connected, an agent can search your workspace for a thread or a person, read a channel before answering about it, post a message or reaction as you, and edit canvases.
Before you start
- A Slack account in the workspace you want agents to use. Messages post under your name, so connect the account you are happy to post from.
- The woble operator must have registered a Slack app once. If Connect says the integration is not configured, ask the operator; you create nothing at api.slack.com yourself.
- If your Slack workspace restricts app installs, a Slack admin has to approve the app from their Requests queue first.
- You must be an owner or admin of the woble workspace.
Connect it
- Open Marketplace in the sidebar, switch to the Integrations tab, find Slack and press Connect.
- Press Continue with Slack. A new tab opens at slack.com.
- Check the workspace shown in the top right of the Slack page and switch if it is the wrong one.
- Slack lists what the app may do on your behalf: search messages and files, view conversations you are in, send messages as you, edit canvases, add reactions. Press Allow.
- The tab closes. The card shows Connected and the agent panel lists the new Slack tools.
Or ask an agent
Type @ruby connect Slack in any chat. The same card appears in the conversation, and only an owner or admin can complete it.
Try it
- "@atlas find the thread in #support about the invoice bug and summarise it"
- "@atlas post a short reminder in #design that the review is at 3pm, show me the text first"
If it does not connect
- You approved the wrong workspace. Press Remove in Marketplace, then Connected, and reconnect, picking the right one on the Slack page.
- Slack said the app needs admin approval. Wait for the Slack admin, then reconnect.
- Tools fail after working before. The app was revoked in Slack or your password changed. Press Test connection in Marketplace, then Connected; Remove and reconnect fixes most token problems.
Disconnect
Marketplace, Connected, press Remove next to Slack. The token is deleted and agents lose the Slack tools immediately.
