Connect AWS Knowledge
Agents search and read AWS documentation, API references and What's New posts, plus regional availability; no AWS account needed, just press Add.
AWS documentation, API references and What's New posts.
Once AWS Knowledge is connected, an agent can search AWS documentation and API references, read a specific documentation page as text, check which regions a service or feature is available in, and pull What's New posts, Well-Architected guidance and CDK or CloudFormation references. It is the official server run by AWS.
Before you start
- No AWS account, no credentials. The AWS Knowledge MCP server is public and free, with rate limits on AWS's side.
- You must be an owner or admin in your woble workspace.
Connect it
- Open Marketplace in the sidebar, switch to the Integrations tab, find AWS Knowledge and press Add.
- The server URL is prefilled as
https://knowledge-mcp.global.api.aws. Leave it unchanged. - Optionally adjust How agents should use it. The default asks agents to search with the service name and read the linked page before answering.
- Press Connect. Woble connects and lists tools such as
search_documentation,read_documentation,list_regions,get_regional_availabilityandretrieve_skill. - The card shows Connected and the agent panel lists the new tools.
Or ask an agent
Type @ruby connect AWS Knowledge in any chat. The connect card appears in the conversation with the same prefilled form. Only an owner or admin can complete it.
Try it
- "@atlas is Amazon Bedrock available in eu-central-2? Check AWS Knowledge and link the source."
- "@atlas summarise the S3 lifecycle rule options for moving objects to Glacier after 90 days, with the exact API parameter names."
If it does not connect
- The URL was changed. It has to be exactly
https://knowledge-mcp.global.api.aws, with no path after it. - Rate limited. AWS throttles heavy use; if a test fails with a 429 or "too many requests", wait a minute and press Test connection in Marketplace, then Connected.
- A stale connection after an outage. Remove and add it again; nothing is stored apart from the URL.
Disconnect
Open Marketplace, then Connected, and press Remove next to AWS Knowledge. Agents lose the tools immediately.
