Connect Linear
Agents find, create and update Linear issues, projects and cycles; you connect by signing in to Linear and authorising your workspace.
Once Linear is connected, an agent can search issues, create new ones with a title, description and team, update status, priority or assignee, add comments, and browse projects and cycles.
Before you start
- A Linear account that is a full member of the workspace you want to connect. Guests can only see the teams they were invited to.
- If you belong to several Linear workspaces, sign in to the right one at linear.app first. The authorisation is granted for one workspace, and you would connect again for another.
- You must be an owner or admin of the woble workspace.
Nothing to copy: Linear uses a sign-in flow with read and write access.
Connect it
- Open Marketplace, go to the Integrations tab, find Linear and press Connect.
- Press Continue with Linear. A new tab opens at linear.app. Sign in if you are not already.
- Linear shows an authorisation page naming the workspace and the access being requested (read and write on issues, projects and comments). Check that the workspace shown is the one you mean; switch workspaces on the page if it offers that.
- Press Authorize. The tab closes.
- The card shows Connected and the agent panel lists the new Linear tools.
Or ask an agent
Type @ruby connect Linear in any chat. The same card appears in the conversation. Only owners and admins can complete it.
Try it
- "@atlas what is in the current cycle for the Mobile team, grouped by status?"
- "@ruby create a Linear issue in ENG titled 'Export CSV times out on large accounts', describe what we discussed above, and give me the ENG number."
If it does not connect
- Wrong workspace: the agent sees a workspace you did not intend. Press Remove in Marketplace, Connected, switch workspaces at linear.app, and connect again.
- Access revoked: someone removed the application under Linear's Security & access settings, or your membership changed. Press Test connection; if it fails, Remove and reconnect.
- Write tools refuse ids: the agent needs team, project and label ids rather than names. Ask it to look them up first; this is not a connection problem.
Disconnect
Open Marketplace, Connected, and press Remove on Linear. The tokens are deleted and agents lose the Linear tools immediately.
