Connect Ahrefs

Agents pull backlink, organic keyword, rank tracking and site audit data from Ahrefs. Connects with an Ahrefs sign-in.

AhrefsSign inData and web

Backlinks, keywords, rank tracking and site audit data.

Once Ahrefs is connected, an agent can pull a domain overview, list backlinks and referring domains, look up keyword volume and difficulty, and read Rank Tracker positions and Site Audit results.

Before you start

  • A paid Ahrefs plan, Lite or higher. Ahrefs MCP is not available on free accounts.
  • API units on that plan. Every call costs at least 50 units, depending on rows and columns requested. Units are shared with Ahrefs Connect and direct API use, and each plan caps rows per request.
  • A sign-in that belongs to the Ahrefs workspace you want agents to bill.
  • You must be an owner or admin of the woble workspace.

Connect it

  1. Open Marketplace from the sidebar, switch to the Integrations tab, find Ahrefs and press Connect.
  2. Press Continue with Ahrefs. A new tab opens at ahrefs.com. Sign in and, if you belong to several workspaces, pick the one whose subscription should be used.
  3. Approve the request. Ahrefs creates an MCP-scoped key for the connection; it is separate from regular API v3 keys.
  4. The tab closes. The card in Marketplace says Connected and the agent panel lists the Ahrefs tools.

Or ask an agent

Type "@ruby connect Ahrefs" in any chat. The same connect card appears there. Only workspace owners and admins can complete it.

Try it

  • "@atlas give me the Ahrefs overview for ourshop.com: domain rating, referring domains and organic traffic, US, last 30 days."
  • "@atlas which 20 keywords does competitor.com rank for in the UK that we do not? Keep it to the columns you need."

If it does not connect

  • 401 after connecting. The subscription lapsed or the key expired. Renew, then press Remove in Marketplace, Connected and connect again.
  • Wrong workspace chosen at sign-in. Remove and reconnect, picking the workspace that holds the API units.
  • "Insufficient units" or fewer rows than expected. You ran out of units or hit the plan's row cap. Check usage in your Ahrefs account settings.
  • Anything else: press Test connection under Marketplace, Connected; Remove and reconnect fixes most problems.

Disconnect

Open Marketplace, Connected, find Ahrefs and press Remove. The tokens are deleted and agents lose the Ahrefs tools immediately.
